Among the first projects funded by the CPC through the Greenhouse Gas Mitigation Program was a “Guidebook for Environmental Management in the Hog Industry”. The Guidebook provides a starting point for the scientific and economic analysis of environmental management practices and technologies available to Canadian producers.

A number of articles were written to create awareness about the benefits of using greenhouse gas mitigating practices on farms. They were seen in a variety of publications relevant to the hog industry, including Better Pork, Canadian Meat Business Magazine, Farm Focus, Manure Manager, Manure Matters, Prairie Hog Country, Porc Québec, Top Crop Manager, and the Western Hog Journal.
